Detailed game description:

Parachute is a handheld electronic game in Nintendo’s Game & Watch series, released as part of the Wide Screen line on June 19, 1981. It was the first title in the Wide Screen series, which featured larger LCD screens and a new housing design compared to earlier Game & Watch models.

The Game & Watch series itself was a line of single-game pocket devices produced by Nintendo in the 1980s and early 1990s, designed by Gunpei Yokoi and notable for its influence on later handheld gaming.
In Parachute, the player controls a rowboat at the bottom of the screen and must position it beneath skydivers jumping from a helicopter. As the parachutists descend, the goal is to catch them safely in the boat before they fall into shark-infested waters; any skydiver who hits the water is shown being eaten by a shark, and the player incurs a miss. The game ends after three misses, and points are awarded for each parachutist caught.
The handheld features two main game modes, commonly referred to as Game A and Game B, with the latter typically introducing a greater challenge. In Game B, parachutists can sometimes become temporarily stuck on a palm tree graphic on the right side of the screen and then fall unpredictably, increasing difficulty. Progressively faster falls and tighter timing tests the player’s reaction and positioning skills as the game proceeds.
Parachute has been included in several later Nintendo compilations of Game & Watch titles. It appears in Game & Watch Gallery 2 and Game & Watch Gallery 4 collections, where the original gameplay is preserved alongside updated “Modern” renditions featuring Mario franchise characters. The parachute motif also appears in the Super Smash Bros. series through character animations and attacks referencing the original handheld game.
This online version of the famous Nintendo handheld title is a DOS remake from 2020. The remake was developed by Shalom Raz and is available as a free download at https://friedpixels.itch.io/parachute. It is controlled using the directional arrows for moving the boat (left and right), and four additional keys: ‘A’ to select Game Mode A, ‘B’ to select Game Mode B, ‘T’ to select Time Mode, and ‘Esc’ to quit the game.
